Education program Next Nature Future Travels (NNFT) in collaboration with Next Nature Network

How many years have our earth and universe been around? And how long have we humans been around? If we look at how old the universe is, we humans are relatively short on earth. Dreams we have about the future are short-term ideas if you place them in a deep-time perspective.

We think long-term and a few billion years ahead during the NNFT education programme. In the amazing Evoluon, students are time travelers who travel billions of years forward to discover and imagine what the world would look like then. They experience spectacular time travel in the VR experience of NNFT, developed by artist Floris Kaayk, Koert van Mensvoort, Maze de Boer and Next Nature Network. Together they explore and imagine the distant future. Will humans still be alive in a billion years? Will nature take over? Is technology taking over? Or is everything fused? And how do we become better ancestors of people, the nature and technology of our future?

To prepare for the NNFT VR experience and workshop, you can use the online learning environment at school developed for NNFT. In the EXPLORE phase, you will find assignments for the fields of SCIENCE, ART, and PHILOSOPHY that make students think about time travel, the burning of the sun, and the effect of your presence on the future. After the visit to NNFT, the students can use assignments to reflect on their experiences in the time machine and think about a new beginning.
