From these questions, the project started with an introduction through brainstorming sessions on art, technology and nature. During a workshop by Luis Ferreira, the group learned to solder microcontrollers and program them themselves, which was entirely new for some participants. The group visited artist Theo Janssen and experienced what technology and nature could mean. Most of the group was keenly interested in birds during the research phase. Sunjoo Lee decided to contact Willen Bouten, a professor at the UvA who has been researching the life of the chickadee for about 15 years. Professor Bouten shared his observations, research and data on the migration these birds make every year from the Veluwe to Africa and back.

Professor Bouten's research was precious for the project. Three artworks were created based on the flight data of a horned tern. One group visualised its route through YouTube videos dealing with the locations of the different GPS sites. Another group made egg-shaped wind harps that made music based on data. Furthermore, a third group visualised stories in which nature takes over technology. In their installation, you could influence projected visuals by touching branches. The realisation of the three artworks was intensely supervised by Sunjoo, Ko and by Luis Ferreira on a technical level.

The final results were exhibited in the centre of Eindhoven from 16 to 18 July 2021 in two empty shop premises in the shopping centre de Heuvel. The exhibition, Nested Realities, was professionally designed and attracted much attention from casual passers-by.
